About the founder
Hi! My name is Teta, and I’m a 27-year-old editor and writer based in Washington, D.C. You can read my self-interview here that I wrote all the way back in 2018.
I was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, but grew up in upstate New York. My heritage is a mix of Gayo, Jawa and Sunda. My conversational Indonesian is passable (probably), but my reading comprehension and writing skills in Indonesian are pretty hopeless. If you have an hour or two to spare, get ready to talk a lot about music. I have studied abroad in London, England, and Shepparton, Australia, but feel most at home in D.C. Most of my family still lives in Jakarta Timur; some live in parts of Aceh and in Bandung.
