About the founder
Hi! My name is Teta, and I’m an editor and writer based in Washington, D.C. You can read my self-interview here that I wrote back in 2018.
I grew up in upstate New York. Most of my family still lives in Jakarta. My heritage is Gayo, Jawa and Sunda. My conversational Indonesian is passable (probably), but my reading comprehension and writing skills in Indonesian are pretty hopeless. I’ve also lived briefly as an exchange student in the U.K. and Australia. If you have an hour or two to spare, get ready to talk a lot about music.
